May 1, 2014, 4:00 - SPEAKER: Bet Finocchiaro, well known for Bet’s Famous Fish Fry in Boothbay, will make a return visit to share humorous stories and observations on life in the region. Bet’s previous visit was a rousing success. Reservations are strongly suggested. Light refreshments to follow.  

May 3, 2014, 1:30 - SPEAKER: Boothbay – The Postcard View; Selections from the Eastern Illustrating & Publishing Company. Co-sponsored by BRHS and Boothbay Railway Village, Kevin Johnson, photo archivist for Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport, ME will host an illustrated talk featuring images from the Eastern Illustrating & Publishing Company. May 20, 2014, 4:00 - Boothbay Region Historical Society Annual Meeting. At the society’s annual meeting members review society business and elect trustees. Our program this year will include readings from letters sent home by local soldiers during the Civil War. Light refreshments to follow.


June 12, 2014, 4:00 - SPEAKER: Past BRHS president Sally Bullard and Pat Slattery will share artifacts from their personal whaling collections. Learn what life aboard these vessels was really like. Reservations suggested. Light refreshments to follow.


July 3, 2014, 9:00-2:00 - Yummy Bake Sale! Stop by the museum to stock up on delicious goodies for the holiday: breakfast goods, cookies, cakes, pies, and more. Mini-raffles. This is a very popular event, so come early!

July 31, 2014, 4:00 - SPEAKER: Ron Richardson will share stories of the ups, downs, and laughs of life at Tilton’s Dairy. Reservations suggested. Light refreshments to follow.


August 14, 2014, 4:00 - SPEAKER: Ronnie Spofford will reminisce about life on Barters Island. Reservations suggested. Light refreshments to follow.

August 27, 2014 4:00 pm-5:00 pm – SPEAKER: Tad Pfeffer will present a photo-rich slide show based on his new book, “The Hand of the Small-Town Builder.”Local areas featured include Ocean Point, Squirrel Island, and East Boothbay. Reservations suggested. Light refreshments to follow.

September 13, 2014, 4:00 pm-6:30 pm - Historic Home Tour on Sawyers Island. Experience Gray House, one of the oldest homes in the region. Step back to the late 1700s when this riverside property included a tavern and inn. Exhibits and presentations, including samples of typical early tavern fair, will bring this era to life.

September 18, 2014, 4:00 - SPEAKER: Mike Dekker, a living history re-enactor, will view the region during the Revolutionary War, through the eyes of a local resident. Reservations suggested. Light refreshments to follow.
