The museum opens its Civil War exhibit on Saturday, December 7 from 10 am to 2 pm. “Boothbay Goes to War, 1861-1865,” illustrates the community’s participation in the Civil War effort and the effect on those who joined the Maine units. Researcher Mark Scott is working on an updated roster of the participants, and the wartime activities of several area residents will be highlighted.
Skilled researcher Devyn Campbell will be on hand to assist people who’d like to know more about their Maine Civil War ancestors. Devyn is the museum’s chief navigator of Maine’s Adjutant General’s Reports, printed during the war and including information on the soldiers, their companies, and regiments.
