Events & Programs
Speakers Program: Presenters range from local people sharing their stories to noted authors with an interest in Maine or local history. Recent topics have included shipbuilding during World War II, preservation in Maine towns, knot tying, and the history of windjammer sailing vessels.
Brown Bag Lunches: Pack a lunch and come to the museum. Similar to our regular speakers program, we occasionally offer lunchtime gatherings with other history buffs or local residents with a story to tell. Following a short presentation, guests are invited to ask questions and share their own stories.
Special Events: The society regularly invites the community to a variety of events:
*the launch of a new exhibit
*speakers & book signings
*our holiday open house in December
